Zeoniq Alternative in Malaysia: ROVA vs Zeoniq on e-Invoice and QR Ordering
Zeoniq is a serious cloud POS with a dedicated e-invoice feature set. Here is how it compares with ROVA on the two things Malaysian restaurants ask about most, and what to check before you switch.

The short answer
If automated e-invoice inside a full POS is your top priority, Zeoniq publishes a dedicated feature set for it, and you should weigh that seriously. ROVA is the Zeoniq alternative in Malaysia for restaurants and cafes that put online and QR food ordering first, want a branded ordering site, and want to see pricing before talking to sales. Either way, test the e-invoice flow with real orders before you sign.
What a POS must do for e-invoice in Malaysia
Before comparing brands, it helps to know what "e-invoice ready" means for a restaurant. LHDN's MyInvois system rolled out in phases by annual turnover, and businesses under RM1 million were exempted from 1 January 2026. Relaxation periods have been revised more than once and sources disagree on exact dates, so check hasil.gov.my for your own phase.
For a typical F&B outlet, the day-to-day rules come down to five things your POS needs to handle:
- Individual e-invoice on request. If a customer asks for an e-invoice, you issue one for that sale.
- Buyer details. The customer's TIN or ID details must be captured somewhere, ideally by the customer, not your cashier.
- Consolidated e-invoice for the rest. Walk-in sales where nobody asks for an e-invoice can generally be combined into a consolidated e-invoice, usually monthly.
- Large single sales. A single transaction above RM10,000 must be invoiced individually, not consolidated.
- Submission to MyInvois. Either directly from the POS or through a connected e-invoice platform.
What Zeoniq offers
Zeoniq is a cloud POS for F&B and retail. It lists a Shah Alam, Selangor address on its website. Based on its public pages:
- e-Invoice: customers can submit their e-invoice details by scanning a QR code on the receipt, and merchants can generate and submit e-invoice reports with one click. The POS backend includes an e-invoice dashboard.
- QR Order & Pay: customers scan, order and pay from their own devices.
- In-store hardware flows: self-ordering, kitchen display and order display screens.
- Online orders: a tool called Zeoniq GO for online order management.
- Backend: AI-powered analytics dashboards, promotions, loyalty, and multi-store management.
Zeoniq also appears to be sold through partners and resellers, which can affect pricing and who you call for support. We have not tested Zeoniq ourselves. Everything above comes from public pages checked on 21 September 2026.

Five e-invoice questions to ask any POS vendor
These work for Zeoniq, ROVA and anyone else on your shortlist. Ask for a live demo, not a brochure.
- How does the customer give their TIN or ID details, and does it happen without cashier help?
- Does the system submit to MyInvois directly, or through a separate platform that costs extra?
- Can it produce consolidated e-invoices for walk-in sales, and flag any single sale above RM10,000?
- What happens when LHDN rejects an e-invoice, and who fixes it?
- Is e-invoice included in the monthly price, or charged per invoice or per outlet?
What to check before you switch from Zeoniq
- Contract end date and notice period. Get it in writing, from the reseller if you bought through one.
- Your e-invoice history. Make sure you can export invoice records and that there is no gap in submissions during the changeover.
- Menu and item data. Ask whether it can be exported. If not, plan time to rebuild it.
- Hardware you own or lease. Confirm what stays with you and what goes back.
- Table QR stickers. Plan to reprint them if the new codes differ.
- Overlap. Run both systems for a few days before cutting over.
How much does Zeoniq cost?
We could not find Zeoniq's pricing on its public pages, so we will not guess. Ask for a written quote that separates software fees, hardware, payment processing, e-invoice charges and contract length. Ask ROVA or any other alternative for the same breakdown. Our numbers are on the food ordering pricing page.
Other Zeoniq alternatives worth shortlisting
ROVA is not the only option. Malaysian F&B comparison guides commonly list StoreHub, Eats365, Slurp and FeedMe as cloud POS alternatives, each with a different balance of price, hardware and features. If you are also weighing a QR-first setup, read our guide to the QR code POS system in Malaysia. If you are comparing other providers, see our Colmo alternative guide and StoreHub alternative guide.
